TRADITIONAL RUGS

Traditional rugs bring that classic look to a room. Originating in Persia, the traditional rug usually features medallions and vine patterns with rich colors of reds, black, navy and beige designed in a center field surrounded by a boarder. Typically made of wool or silk, hand knotted or tufted to a cotton warp which makes the fringe. Usually made in Middle Eastern in countries such as India, Pakistan, Iran and in addition China.

CONTEMPORARY RUGS

Contemporary rugs incorporate a large classification of designs and styles usually characterized by contrasting use of color and geometric patterns. Other styles make use of large and simple nature patterns. Construction can vary from wool to synthetic fibers. Contemporary rugs generally do not include fringe. These rugs are made in every region of the world.

TRANSITIONAL RUGS

Transitional rugs bridge the Traditional and Contemporary rugs by incorporating styles from both. Less intricate patterns than Traditional and usually without borders as well as more subtle use of color contrast. These rugs can also be made from many fibers and even a blend of fibers. These rugs can be from any region of the world but usually from the same regions as Traditional  rugs.
